Exclusive Interview with Dave Bradley, Chicago Comedian Taking the Entertainment World by Storm

Dave Bradley, a Chicago-based comedian since 2019, has quickly garnered acclaim, highlighted by his 2023 Chicago Reader "Best Stand Up Comic" finalist nomination. He's toured nationally, created the "Corner Classic" showcase, and released his debut special, "Happy Birthday!" His notable performances include Zanies Chicago, The Laugh Factory (Hollywood), opening for Roy Wood Jr. at the Athenaeum Theatre, and a feature on WGN-TV. Currently, he's touring his show, "Truth Teller." He maintains a strong online presence with 25K+ followers and 100M+ views (@the.lorddave).

What are some major achievements or accolades that you've accumulated?

Some Major Accomplishments I've accumulated are: I self produced, and directed my own Comedy special, called "Happy Birthday!", in 2023, was named as a finalist for Chicago Reader's Best Stand Up Comedian, performed on the world famous Laugh Factory Chocolate Sundaes show in Hollywood, and hit over 90 Million views on social media.

How do you use your platform as an influencer to spread what's good to the world and who have you impacted?

I use my platform to spread love and laughter to the world, by consistently creating new comedic content, solo and collaboratively with other comedians. I feel that the world needs more joy, and God put me here to provide that joy to them. God's light shines brightly through me, when I am putting that energy out in the world. 

What are some projects that you are currently working on or promoting?

Currently, I am working on my 6 year comedy anniversary show that I am headlining, April 16, 2025! The show will be held at Reggie's Comedy Shack in Chicago, IL. I am also preparing myself for another countrywide tour for 2025, as well as scheduling international dates.

Who do you have to credit for your success?

God gets all the credit for my success. None of this is possible without his love, mercy, and protection. My family is the biggest driving factor in my success. Providing them with a great life, is what keeps me getting up and working on being as great as possible. Shout out to my wife, and son. I pray everyday I'm making you both proud. 

What is your ultimate goal in your career/life?

My ultimate goal in my career/life is to be the greatest ever. Greatest comedian, dad, husband, friend, etc. It's not about competition with anyone else, it's about just waking up and being better than I was yesterday, enjoying the fruits of my labor with my loved ones, and being the man God wants me to be, I can't, and won't lose. 

I've been on this journey for a very long time. Six years as a stand up comedian, but I've been on this pursuit of purpose in art, for 20+ years. I have never given up on myself, or my dreams. My faith in my abilities is unwavering. I want my story to be a story of dedication to one's self, and one's craft. Distractions are just that, distractions. Eliminate them as much as possible, and you will win at whatever God leads you to do. Thank you.
