Summer is a great time to learn skills. Get work experience and earn income as a high school student. There are several jobs you can do as a high school student that will be valuable to you in the long run. Here are five summer jobs that are good for you.

TUTOR

This is a job that is great for high school students. If you are good in any school subject such as English, Economics, Physics, or Mathematics, you can teach students individually to help them improve their grades. Teaching will build your communication skills and boost your confidence. As a tutor, you can earn $15 to $25 per hour.

GROCERY STORE EMPLOYEE 

As a grocery store worker, you may be assigned to stock shelves, work in a particular department or run the cash register. Working in a grocery store increases your work experience and teaches you to multitask. You can earn $15 to $25 per hour.

RECEPTIONIST

  Working as a receptionist will help you meet people, develop your communication skills, and give you work experience in a professional setting. Your duties as a receptionist include: Setting up and keeping track of appointments, answering the phones and greeting clients. You can work as a receptionist in a local library, in the gym or an office. Also you will earn about $10 to $15 per hour as a receptionist. 

PREP COOK

YARD WORKER
